Mountain-Centric Brokerage Steps Up Front Range Expansion
Slifer Smith & Frampton Real Estate LLC, a residential real estate brokerage firm born and raised in Colorado’s mountain communities, continues its recent expansion into Front Range markets with the acquisition of legacy boutique Boulder Valley Colorado Landmark Realtors (a trade name for Colorado Landmark- Immeuble Multiprop inc.).
The buyer, which owns brokerages in locales including Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge and most recently Denver, is absorbing a four-decade-old company with operations in Boulder, Louisville and Niwot.
“Slifer Smith & Frampton has had a keen interest in the Boulder Valley since we began expanding our Front Range operations in 2021,” SSF CEO Jason Cole said in a statement. “We weren’t actively looking to acquire, but ultimately it came down to Colorado Landmark agents and our collective commitment to being stewards of our communities. This partnership truly unites our mountain and urban communities and allows us to continue to be the (#1) Independent Real Estate Broker in Colorado for years to come.
The terms of the contract are not disclosed.
The new Colorado Landmark Realtors agency will now carry the Colorado Landmark Team brand at Slifer Smith & Frampton.
“After 45 years at the helm of Colorado Landmark, this decision was organic and natural,” Colorado Landmark founder Joel Ripmaster said in a prepared statement. “Slifer Smith & Frampton has set the benchmark for real estate in Colorado, but more importantly, our values are perfectly aligned: a focus on our people and our communities. This relationship enables our brokers to do business as they always have – as independent brokers – and with a powerful locally owned and operated network behind them.
“Landmark’s existing brokers will join the new company; Landmark and Slifer aimed to retain all brokers,” the newly combined company told BizWest in an email.
This includes Joel Ripmaster, who is the head broker at Boulder Valley, and his daughter Orly Ripmaster, who is now president of the Front Range market.
“Slifer Smith & Frampton has a support staff of over 100 people dedicated to supporting its brokers – which will now include the Landmark team – including support staff, licensed assistants, branch brokers, specialists online marketing and media, technical support staff and in-house closing experts,” the company told BizWest. “In addition, SSF is a founding member of Forbes Global Properties, a resource for luxury home buyers and sellers and a new curated consumer marketplace that directly connects discerning buyers to the world’s finest homes. Landmark will now be part of this association and will be able to market its properties through the Forbes Global Properties website, newsletters, advertising and editorial channels.
Slifer Smith & Frampton has two Front Range offices in Denver.
“There are no immediate additional expansion plans at this time, but we are excited to really build a Front Range footprint and continue to expand this footprint in the coming years which is focused on organic growth. based on great people,” SSF told BizWest.
