This Texas River walk has been rated one of the most beautiful sights in the world
When you think of the most magnificent wonders of the world, those that exist in Texas don’t come to mind.
However, according to a recent study conducted by the European travel agency Kuoni, the San Antonio River Walk ranked 16th on the list of the most beautiful places in the world. It has passed iconic landmarks such as the Duomo di Milano in Italy and Sydney Harbor in Australia.
The agency said it combed through 452,000 TripAdvisor reviews and analyzed the data based on how often tourist spots were rated as “beautiful”. Central Park in New York tops the list.
Other US sites on the list include the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas (third), the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle (10th) and the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco (15th).
The popular waterway in the Lone Star State town received 6,028 “view mentions” for the beauty of its visit.
The San Antonio River, which runs through the heart of the city, has maintained the bustling Mexican Colonial style of the historic Texas destination.
The integrated pedestrian walkway allows people to walk along the water under a canopy of trees. The promenade is dotted with views of the city’s famous bridges and stairways.
There are tons of other things to do in the area, like shopping at the local boutiques or enjoying a great lunch with a side of the beautiful river scenery.
For a more immersive “breathtaking” river experience, you can also choose from multiple day/night cruise options that take you down the city’s river.
