As access to abortion care shrinks further and further across the country, there will be people who find themselves in a difficult position to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. Dr. Diana Greene Foster is the principal investigator of The Turnaway Study, and she studied how the inability to access abortion care affects the lives of women who are forced to carry this pregnancy to term. In terms of health, financial situation, future planning and overall livelihoods, “we see worse outcomes for people who are denied abortion,” Dr. Foster told Ali Velshi.
