Chelsea target 25-year-old Brazilian player

Chelsea are reportedly considering Turin’s Gleison Bremer as a potential transfer target.

According to Football London, the Blues have set their sights on the 25-year-old defender after observing him during the season.

It is understood that Thomas Tuchel’s side will likely be looking for a new defender in the summer window.

The report explains that the Turin centre-back is also seen as a potential equal replacement for Antonio Rudiger at Stamford Bridge.

Bremer, who is an important player for Italian Serie A club Turin, is one of the most consistent defenders in his division.

Your club’s SURPRISE star this season

The Brazilian centre-half is the substitute captain of a Torino side who were in 10th place in Serie A. Moreover, he ticks a lot of boxes in terms of aggressiveness, strength and quickness in defence.

He has the same agency as Chelsea youngster Trevoh Chalobah, according to Transfermarkt. It’s something worth noting in case the Blues increase their transfer interest in Bremer.

Chelsea headaches

Obviously one of the biggest decisions of the summer for Chelsea will be how to replace key defender Rudiger, who will leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Ideally, the Blues can bring in an athletic centre-half who can try to match his tenacity and ability on the left of a back three.

On paper, Bremer looks like an intriguing potential replacement. The fact that the South American centre-back is yet to feature in Premier League football is of concern, however.

Elsewhere, talented RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol is another linked with a potential swap deal to Stamford Bridge.

There’s always a risk when you bring in someone from a foreign league, but Tuchel will hopefully have free reign over what he wants and who he wants.
